Gold and Emancipated Courage

First of all, it has to be mentioned that the following text does not reffer to abstract notions, followed by a priori and empirical ones, regarding the concept of courage nowadays. Ok, or at least not in an exhaustive way. To a great extent, what follows is already a surplus to all the brilliant articles and books that were and are still written on the same topic: the monetary market and its standard ment to save a wrongly completed puzzle. However, even though it considerably looses its appeal, a remake has the advantage of capturing a bit of interest, enough to redirect ones’ attention to the original, therefore I’d say that the time is not wasted. And, because more than likely there is an unwritten rule against the prolonging of the mistery more than necessary, at least a vague elucidation of the thoughts that led to the typing of such an adjective as the one that proudly accompaniates the “courage” from the title is required; and how can this be better done than through a short reference to the classical courage. Belonging to one of the oldest currents of ethics, the theory of virtue is to some extent shaped by Aristotel’s oppinion accorting to which almost any quality is built as an average between the two extremes of the same character trait, the average being a qualitative and not a quantitative one. So, the problem of adjusting the instinctual emotions on the basis of reasoning is brought into question; from where the classical version of courage emerges: cowardice – courage – recklessness.
