The last three decades perfectly illustrate the immense economic and human tragedy created in Third World Countries by the transplantation of socialist ideology and practice. Contrary to what the "alter-mondialistes" and other left-wing groups think, the slow development of the Southern Hemisphere in the last 60 years is not the consequence of exploitation of this part of the world by Western capitalism, but primarily the effect of the statist and - often - outright murderous policies implemented by the local governments.
