The Legislative Inflation Hits Like a Boomerang

It doesn’t pay well to have a lot! It’s a saying that fits not only the money in circulation, but also the current laws. The huge stack of files (tens, if not hundreds per judge weekly) that dissatisfies both judges and justiciables has as basis the legislative inflation adopted by the legislative and executive powers, but also by state authorities and even private professional orders. Justice, on the other hand, malcontented by the fact that it is not seen for its statute of the third power of the state has its own part of the blame, by not fulfilling its constitutional attributes of controlling the other two powers of the state. In a court of law, the citizen cannot claim not to have known the law. However, in practice, it is absolutely impossible for him to at least cover, let alone study the immense number of laws that are adopted by different state institutions. The legislative instability, together with its unfortunate effects upon economic, institutional and social developments, is proven by numbers: more than 83,500 laws adopted starting with 1990!
