By this “diary”, I do not necessarily mean to aim at the current economic crisis. I do not aim to depict the state conditions that maintain the economic cycles, together with all the theoretical details that make clear the causes of the crisis. Such excursions, more or less technical into the anatomy of the crisis have been already and forever will be written. Here and now I am concerned to come into notice on an almost catastrophical implication: the radical denial of capitalism using an entire stock of myths, errors and dishonesties. Beyond the authentic theory of business cycles, the “belief profession” of the economist compels him, maybe more than ever, to re-establish the truth about capitalism, the economic system and the free market. We need, every now and then, a such non-mythological turn to the filter of logical rigor of economic science, in order to be able to legitimately evolve from “assumptions” to peaceful “verdicts”.
